Our aim during each consultation is to give you and your pet care and attention to detail. A good understanding of your concerns and your pet’s medical history is key to resolving the problem — and you can help us significantly by preparing a few things in advance.
Each one makes the appointment more productive — and shortens the road to a diagnosis.
01
Complete the questionnaires
Fill in the initial consultation questionnaire for your pet’s species and submit it before your visit. This lets our team get familiar with the history in advance.
02
Share the dietary history
Complete the dietary history questionnaire, and photograph the ingredient lists on the treats and food you offer your pet.
03
Fill the quality of life form
This helps our team evaluate how the skin condition is affecting your pet and the whole family.
04
Hold the bath
Please do not bathe your pet for 5 to 7 days before the consultation.
05
Fast overnight
Withhold food and treats after the previous day’s dinner. Water is fine before the visit.
06
Bring everything
Bring all treatments and shampoos your pet is on or has been on in the last year — pills, creams, ointments, lotions, eye drops, ear treatments, sprays and medicated shampoos.
On the day
Arrive about ten minutes early.
There is a little in-clinic paperwork to complete before your appointment. If your pet is an intact female, please let our staff know about her most recent heat cycle or if she may be pregnant.

Follow-up consults
Keeping the plan on track
Many dermatological conditions are managed throughout a patient’s life, which makes follow-up visits essential.
Based on your pet’s progress since the initial or previous evaluation, further recommendations on long-term care are vital in achieving continued improvement.
You can help immensely by providing relevant information on your pet’s latest dermatologic, medical and dietary history.
Before a follow-up
Bring your completed patient progress monitoring sheets
Bring your pet fasted overnight — water is fine
Continue or stop treatments exactly as advised at your last visit
Note any flares, new symptoms or changes in routine
Allow at least 72 hours’ notice to change or cancel
